I'm a lot of things: a cartoonist, illustrator, animator, composer, writer, improv comedian, and furry. None of those are officially "professional", but hey, I'm passionate, and they'll get me hired. You'll see! YOU'LL ALL SEE!
I was born on July 17th, 2002, 3 years after SpongeBob's non-pilot premiere, and 47 after Disneyland's original opening. Consider that real-life foreshadowing, if you'd like. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, and I learned how to read a lot faster than my peers. When I was only 3 or 4 - I took a toy car and scraped the alphabet into the wall with it. I proudly announced "Look, dad...the alphabet!". Fortunately, they were too surprised and amused to be irritated. I think.
My art has evolved a lot and changed over the years. I went from typical young kid drawing to copying Miis, to copying Bill Watterson, to copying Dav Pilkey, to copying Jeff Kinney, to eventually developing my own style. Because I was a 2000s kid who also grew up with a lot of 90s media, my style is heavily based on things I love from those decades that form the Y2K era, most especially Phineas and Ferb, Camp Lazlo, SpongeBob Squarepants, Rocko's Modern Life, Captain Underpants, Dexter's Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Animaniacs, the Disney Renaissance, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Influences outside of (or on the edges of) that time frame include Calvin and Hobbes, TomSka, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Scooby-Doo, Krazy Kat, The Amazing World of Gumball, Gravity Falls, The Princess Bride, Jay Ward, and a variety of old-school theatrical cartoons, especially Looney Tunes, Mickey Mouse, and Tom and Jerry.
A wise yet very silly animated rabbit once said: "Laughter is a very powerful thing. Why, sometimes, it's the only weapon we have!" and that's become one of my main mottos. I love to make people laugh and think at the same time, and my favorite art in the world does that, so that's what I try to do with my creative work, whether it be drawing art for friends or playing around with video editing. Then again, I most frequently watch things like this, which are just for the funny, so...I dunno. The point is, laughter is vital to me.
